Darren Carter is one of Armstrong Relocation’s top performing drivers.  He has consistently low claims, great safety ratings, and excellent customer service scores.  He has worked with Armstrong for ten years now and we hope many more to come.  He currently lives in the Dallas area with his wife Krissy and he has four children: Drew, Layna, Donovan, and Makena.  Darren comes from a large southern family himself, so family is obviously very important to him.  The moving and relocation business is in his family’s blood though, as two of his brothers also work in the industry!  Darren is usually extremely busy with work, especially as he is one of our continental drivers and therefore can be dispatched all over the US.  But…in the event he does have down time, he is usually either spending time with his wife and kids or working on building a 1983 Chevy truck!

In your cab – Ipad and GPS

Truckin’ tunes – Anything that is catchy

Grazing spot – Cracker Barrel

Truck stop purchases – The obvious…FUEL and coffee

Tip for your customers – Best advice…pick one place in the house to keep items that are not going on the moving truck…ie. cell phone chargers, paperwork, keys, garage door openers, etc.

Thank you to Darren and his wife Krissy for contributing the information needed and photos for this feature!

Folks, I absolutely love anything that came from the 1950s, whether it’s furniture, architectural design, knick-knacks or popular culture. Through profound self-analysis, I’ve concluded that this has something to do with the fact that this was the time when my parents were teenagers. My imagination just takes off picturing what it must have been like to spend one’s formative years during the height of the post-war economic boom and paranoia of the Cold War.

That must be why I find these vintage United Van Lines ads, circa 1957, so charming and amusing. Enjoy!

Per our entry here, Armstrong Relocation is committed to helping our employees live healthy lifestyles, however we’re also committed to helping our customers live healthy and stay healthy.  We know that the few days prior to the move and the few days after the move are extremely hectic and it’s definitely hard to still find the time (or the supplies) to prepare home-cooked and nutritious meals for your family.  So we thought we’d help you with this by providing a handful of delicious meals that require only SIX cooking supplies or less!  Now…this does exclude plates and utensils, as we figured you could pick up disposables at the grocery store.  But yes, these meals will only utilize six pieces of cooking equipment!

So….wash your hands and let’s get cooking!
